Physical and Chemical Properties

Odorless. White powder or crystal. There are three crystal forms: monoclinic crystal relative density 4.15,193 ℃ sublimation; cubic crystal relative density 3.865; amorphous body relative density 3.738, Melting point: 312.3 ℃,slightly soluble in water to produce arsenous acid.  insoluble in ethanol.Arsenic trioxide is an amphoteric oxide, but is more acidic than alkaline. Soluble in alkaline solution will produce arsenite; more difficult to dissolve in acid, but will be soluble in concentrated hydrochloric acid, the formation of arsenic trichloride.

Application

a.   Raw materials for the preparation of arsenic-based pesticides, including sodium arsenite, sodium arsenate and sodium cacodylate.

b．Preparation of pesticides, rodenticides, etc.

c．Preparation of pharmaceutical and veterinary products, such as new arsenic fanamin.

d．The decolorizing agent of enamel and glass can also make glass and ceramic products more transparent and smooth.

e．Wood preservatives.

f．In metallurgy, it is used to prevent the recombination of hydrogen.

g．Raw materials for the preparation of elemental forms of arsenic, arsenic alloys and arsenic compound semiconductors.

h．Used as chemotherapy for resistant acute pre-myeloid leukemia (APML)．

Storage

Store in a cool, well-ventilated special warehouse, the implementation of the “double send and receive, double custody” system. Keep away from fire and heat source. The packaging is sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidants, acids, halogens and edible chemicals, and avoid mixed storage. The storage area shall be provided with suitable materials to contain spills.
